INFORMATION ABOUT COOKIES
Due to the entry into force of the amendment to the "Information Society Services Act" (LSSICE) established by Royal Decree 13/2012, it is mandatory to obtain the express consent of the user of all websites that use non-essential cookies before browsing them.
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies and other similar technologies, such as local shared objects, flash cookies, or pixels, are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about their visitors, as well as to ensure the proper functioning of the site.
The use of these devices allows the web server to remember certain data about the user, such as their preferences for viewing the pages of that server, their username and password, the products they are most interested in, etc.
Through the use of cookies, the server hosting the website can also recognize the user's browser, making navigation easier. This allows, for example, previously registered users to access areas, services, promotions, or contests reserved exclusively for them without having to register on each visit. They can also be used to measure audience and traffic parameters, monitor progress and the number of entries, etc.
COOKIES AFFECTED BY THE REGULATIONS AND EXCEPTED COOKIES
According to the EU directive, the cookies that require the user's informed consent are analytics, advertising, and affiliation cookies. Exempt are technical cookies and those necessary for the operation of the website or the provision of services expressly requested by the user.
WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES ARE THERE?
Regarding the types of cookies, there are five main groups:
Analytical cookies: These collect information about website usage.
Social cookies: These are required for external social networks.
Affiliate cookies: These allow tracking of visits from other websites with which the website has an affiliate contract (affiliate companies).
Advertising and behavioral cookies: These collect information about the user's preferences and personal choices (retargeting).
Technical and functional cookies: These are strictly necessary for the use of the website and for the provision of the contracted service.
